In 1999, Michael Lovas and Pam Holloway joined forces to create AboutPeople, a unique training, coaching and consulting firm focused on applying practical psychology to solve business problems.

What makes them unique?  Everything they teach is based on research and proven in "real life."

Both have backgrounds in psychology and business.  Each also brings a diverse set of talents, skills and practical experience that clients find refreshing and invaluable!

Michael has been providing sales and marketing expertise to the financial services, insurance and retail industries for three decades. He is a prolific author and columnist, having published at least one column every month since 1986.  He loves the process of writing, and is extremely good at it.  He is also a gifted speaker, having been a regular speaker at many of the financial industry's conferences.  Michael also brings a deep/wide background in Neuro-linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy.

Pam came to AboutPeople after a career at ExxonMobil and several years of ground-breaking work with several Management Consulting firms. The common element in all of Pam’s pre-AboutPeople endeavors is the study of how people think, learn and make decisions. She is also a speaker and writer, having delivered programs in Asia, Europe and North America.      

AboutPeople is the culmination of 50+ years of work on how to apply effective psychology to achieve results.  This includes Emotional Intelligence, Mental Filters, Social Styles, and other psychometric insights.  As you can see, we are experts at reading people, communicating and connecting with them - externally with target markets and individual clients, and internally with employees, management and other stakeholders.

Experience. We've served the financial services industry since 1986.  We've trained and coached thousands of advisors, agents, wholesalers and customer service peopl - primarily teaching them specific psychological skills to build profitable business relationships.

Main Focus. While Financial Services has been our primary industry of focus, it not our only focus. We work with companies of all flavors and sizes, from Microsoft to Maryhill Winery. We assist in marketing, sales, hiring, team building and customer relations.  Firms call us when people issues come into play. You see, we're really good with people.

Volunteer Work.  Michael and Pam are devoted to helping military veterans get a fresh start in their civilian lives.  Michael is a Marine Corps veteran, the co-founder and former Commander of the Inland Northwest Patriot Guard.  In that capacity, he led 300 patriot citizens in processions to military funerals in eastern Washington, and gave an emotional shoulder to surviving family members on the day of the funerals. 

After resigning from that position, Michael started 2nd Shot.  A non-profit organization that helps military veterans transition to civilian careers.

While Michael is the founder and director of 2nd Shot, Pam serves as advisor and consultant.  Together Michael and Pam teach veterans how to use psychology and emotional intelligence to advance their careers.
